If you love walking in nature, Duino Aurisina and Sistiana have numerous paths and walks for all levels. Starting from the Camping Village Mare Pineta, you can directly enter the famous Rilke path extending from the bay of Sistiana up to Duino, near the homonymous castle. The trail is easily accessible with a breath-taking view over the gulf of Trieste, with stretches dropping to the sea; you may also discover the military outposts used during the war. The Tiziana Weiss trail, overlooking the picturesque panorama of the Gulf of Trieste, leading to Santa Croce starts from Aurisina. During the walk you will be accompanied by the scent of sage and juniper and by the many nuances of nature in the Karst region. Enter the fishermen’s path to reach the sea. This trail is one of the oldest of the Karst, once used in Roman times to transport the white stone of Aurisina to vessels which were then taken to the entire Mediterranean region.
