The Rilke path, from the homonymous poet R.M. Rilke, is certainly one of the most beautiful and evocative walks of the gulf of Trieste. The trail, directly accessible from the Camping Village Mare Pineta, connects Sistiana to Duino along a path overlooking the sea skirting the marvellous cliff.

Crossing the Mediterranean is a tourist walk extending for about 30 Km from Aurisina to Val Rosandra mostly facing the sea where you can enjoy splendid views of Trieste and the homonymous gulf.

Trieste is in many ways the city of coffee, thanks not only to the famous Illy industry but to the vintage charm of the historical pubs in town, where personalities such as Stendhal, Joyce and Svevo used to go. Today the so-called historical cafès have become real tourist destinations.

Places where local wines (Terrano, Vitovska and Malvasia) and traditional foods (eggs, sausages, salamis and cheeses) of the Karst regions can be and enjoyed. Guests are usually welcomed directly in the cellars of the farmers who produce them.

Starting from piazza dell’Unità d’Italia, the main square of Trieste you will discover palaces, cafès and places, through an itinerary between the various historical and cultural eras which have made Trieste the Central European city par excellence.

The itinerary will make you discover the Castle of Miramare, the Hapsburg dwelling, and the San Giusto castle that was rebuilt by Frederick II of Hapsburg on the ruins of the medieval fortress demolished in the XIV century.

The Carsiana Botanical Garden is located in the Municipality of Sgonico, 18 km from Trieste, along the provincial road that connects the village of Sgonico to that of Gabrovizza.
