The territory surrounding the Camping Village Mare Pineta is the Trieste Karst area : a unique territory, from the sea to the hill, offering beautiful landscapes, magical places and tempting flavours. There are various itineraries from Duino Aurisina: from the Rilke trail to the streets of the historic centre of Trieste, from Duino Castle to the caves of the Karst. The Castle of Duino is a must see, today it is composed of a set of buildings from different eras enclosed by boundary walls with a wonderful terrace overlooking the sea, and the famous Giant Cave a spectacular treasure of nature and home to the largest touristic room in the world.
Trieste, a few kilometres from the camping village offers tourists a number of historic, cultural and culinary attractions: a must see is the Miramare Castle , the famous Barcola after which the popular sailing regatta was named, Piazza Unità d’Italia, surrounded by beautiful buildings and full of elegant and historic cafés.
Among the events not to be missed in Trieste: the Barcolana, the historic sailing regatta that involves fans and curious from all over Europe and beyond. Every year the appointment is on the second Sunday of October in the Gulf of Trieste!
